Kevin Cover is running for one of the two open At-Large seats on Pueblo City Council. He is a newcomer to local politics and is running with the theme that he has a "Passion For Pueblo" - and says we should be proud of our people, location and great climate.
He is a sales manager for a dish netowrk company and says at 30 years old, he wants to pave the way for other young people to come forward and run for a local office.
Cover says he supports more police officers and even paying a tax for public safety as well as the City's ballot issue to support the request for a street-repair utility that would collect about $3 million to $4 million a year for street repairs.
Cover said he also likes the idea of having a strong mayor in Pueblo if there's a good candidate. As for the heated Black Hills Energy issue, Cover supports trying to end the contract that has Pueblo listed as the highest paying residents and businesses in the state.
