Jason Munoz, a fifth generation Pueblo native, is running for an at large position on Pueblo City Council. He graduated in mass communications at CSU-Pueblo and works for the County of Pueblo and says that he wants to contribute to the betterment of Pueblo.
In a speech at a Latino Chamber luncheon he summed up why he wanted to be elected to Pueblo City Council in his words:
"I love Pueblo and I want to help see long term sustainability and economic prosperity. I will be a champion and cheerleader for Pueblo to promote our beautiful city. I will be a good listener and act to find resolutions to our issues, and act to make positive improvements for Pueblo. I want to serve the community."
Munoz says that Pueblo has so much potential, and it infuriates him when he hears out of towners, and even more so, locals talk so negatively about our city. He knows issues need to be addressed however. He lives on the West side and says he sees the transients, alleged drug trafficking, and squatters and he's concerned.
He wants Pueblo to be more economically sustainable and he'd like to transfer the city into a 100 percent wifi community.
In his words: "If Pueblo is going to go 100% green then we need to be 100% wifi. Another option we need to address are the high electricity prices. Ridiculous rates are scaring away businesses and that is just unacceptable."
