screen-shot-2017-10-01-at-12-01-41-pmThe 9/10 of a cent proposed tax for a new jail and treatment center - advocates say that the current jail has only a capacity of 509 with a high of 806 inmates this year, making Pueblo County’s exposure to liability is at an all-time high.

Heroin-related overdoses in the community over the past two years are three times the state rate at 8..7 deaths per 100,000 residents and Garrison Ortiz, Pueblo County Commissioner, has led an in depth task force study and concluded that a new jail and treatment center would be the best option, thus Issue 1A on the ballot November 7.
